The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Health Systems Management operating unit which focuses on Healthcare IT solutions for our Federal, State, and Local government clients. This group provides support services for the SSA.

The candidate applying for this position should be able to work with the Enterprise Data Architects on projects conducting the Data Analysis and converting the user/business requirements to Logical Models. Identifying and implementing data governance principles in an enterprise data environment. Produce logical data models using the Erwin data modeling software and understanding the difference between Logical and Physical modeling. Should have the ability to work on both Agile and Waterfall projects.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Support the Enterprise Data Architects team
  • Converting the Business/User requirements into logical models
  • Conducting data analysis and translating them to logical models
  • Creating/Editing logical models using Erwin data modeling tool
  • Identify critical problems during the data analysis, and take necessary steps to resolve them
  • Provide guidance in developing high-level design requirements for project and communicate in writing or in meetings with project team.
  • Review data analysis progress to ensure compliance with overall project deliverables.
  • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical topics to management and non-technical audiences, as well as interface with the customer on a daily basis

Basic Qualifications:
Minimum knowledge, skills, abilities needed
  • Bachelor's degree and 15 years IT work experience or Master's degree and 13 years IT work experience or 19 years IT work experience in lieu of degree
  • Minimum 6 years of experience as a Data Analyst, Data Designer, or Data Modeler
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in extracting and understanding business requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of data analysis and logical data design
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience using the Erwin (Modelmart) modeling software producing both logical and physical data models
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience utilizing database software such as DB2, Oracle, Postgres, Greenplum
  • Must have experience in technical writing of software lifecycle documents including requirements documentation
  • Must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication
  • Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident (Green card holder).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SSA Position of Trust.


Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these skills will be given preferential consideration.
  • Prior Social Security Administration (SSA) experience is a plus
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to identify and resolve performance and scalability bottlenecks
  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in data quality identification and implementing data governance principles in an enterprise data environment
