Semiconductor Equipment Engineer (level 2/3)

The Advanced Concepts and Technologies (AC&T) group of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Semiconductor Equipment Engineer (level 2/3) for our Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) – located outside of Baltimore, Maryland – where we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal and commercial production customers as well as emerging technology programs.

Northrop Grumman’s ATL semiconductor foundry is a unique capability supporting a range of production microelectronic devices (Silicon, Gallium Arsenide, Gallium Nitride, Silicon Carbide, Carbon Nanotubes) and providing leading edge technology development in superconducting electronics. Our devices enable a number of Northrop Grumman’s ground based radars, avionic radars, and space systems.

Our multidisciplinary foundry team enables activities from development to sustainment process engineering. ATL is responsible for all aspects of semiconductor technology including design, mask making, wafer fabrication, test, and assembly.

The Semiconductor Equipment Engineer will manage our Toxic Gas Monitoring, Abatement and Vacuum Systems and occasional installation of semiconductor equipment at Northrop Grumman’s semiconductor foundry in Baltimore.

Responsibilities include all aspects of facilities and factory layout for foundry equipment. The chosen candidate will develop and apply continuous improvement programs for existing foundry equipment; and be responsible for all aspects of running a group or groups of tools, from day to day operations up to and including service contracts with vendors. Responsibilities to include both the DI and waste water plant and the Nitrogen Generation plant. Minimal travel – one or two short trips per year.
