Section Manager - Los Angeles Fluid Subsystems

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is looking for a Section Manager Aircraft Fluid Systemsreporting to the Department Manager of Space Propulsion, Fluid Systems, and Cryocoolers in the Vehicle Integration Directorate. The Section Manager will lead a group of approximately 12 engineers responsible for aircraft fluid systems architecture, analysis, and testing located in Redondo Beach, CA.
The selected candidate will provide support to aircraft and directed energy programs in both unclassified and classified environments.
Approximately 20% of the section manager's time will be spent performing leadership, people management, and supervisory duties such as management of personnel, program design reviews, coordination of job assignments, staffing, recruiting, performance management, and enforcement of common tools and processes used by section members across programs. The balance of the section manager's time will be spent supporting aircraft and directed energy programs, participating in fluid system architecture, analysis and testing.
The successful candidate must have experience working with diverse technical teams, and must also be experienced with the design, assembly and/or test of flight hardware. Experience with flight hardware acceptance testing and documentation is preferred.
- Bachelors of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution
- 5years of engineering experience focused on the design, assembly, and/or test of aircraft fluid subsystems
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret Clearance
- Prior functional management experience OR engineering team lead experience
- Master's Degree in Engineering
- An active DoD Secret Security Clearance
- Experience in supplier management
