Northrop Grumman's Technology Services is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support the Sustainment and Modernization of Radar Sensors (SMORS) program. This position is located in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Realize the rewards of conquering a new challenge performing System and Software Safety and Systems Engineering supporting the SMORS program. Under the direction of technical program management, the Systems Engineer assesses the system and uses their engineering knowledge to evaluate the requirements, design, and the implementation of that design to verify and validate whether the platform will be able to perform its mission safely and effectively. The Systems Engineer also ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that satisfy technical, schedule and cost constraints.

Roles and Responsibilities:
* Reviewing and analyzing systems, applications, and their interfaces to quickly acquire the system knowledge to understand the design and functionality.
* Identifying the hardware and software portions of systems for safety and mission critical functionality.
* Identifying and defining requirements, design, and test procedures that will ensure the system will perform as expected.
* Performing detailed evaluation of software systems to verify that the software requirements are correctly implemented in the design and code and that the resulting code does not contain embedded safety hazards.
* Documenting analysis performed.
* Presenting findings to peers, customers, and management. Some travel may be required to support customer milestone meetings and perform testing and safety analyses.

This position is contingent upon program award.

Basic Qualifications:
* BS degree from accredited university in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science or related Engineering degree from an accredited institution. Other Engineer and Science disciplines will be considered if there is significant training or knowledge of programming languages.
* 9 Years' experience with Bachelor's Degree; 7 Years' experience with a Master's Degree.
* U.S. Citizen with an active SECRET security clearance is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Flexibility to travel for customer purposes.
* Experience with USAF/DoD radar systems.
* Previous experience supporting aGovernment and/or DoD customer.
* Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced, team oriented environment.
* Self-starter - efficient in achieving goals and proactive in pursuing subsequent tasks.
* Familiarity with MS Office suite of tools (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project.
* Ability to work in a team environment and take initiative individually.
* Ability to evaluate complex systems and identify problems.
* Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing at all levels from internal employees to customers.
* Must have strong interpersonal skills.
