What You'll get to Do:

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to provide technical leadership for Control Segment planning, operation concept and requirements development/engineering, verification and validation, and risk analyses on GPS program. The position requires senior-level skills in systems engineering and analyses at all levels of total system product to include system architecture, concept, design, test, installation, operation and maintenance, as well as experience in and understanding of evaluating, interpreting, and distilling customer requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical and schedule constraints. Preferably have experience with Trade Studies, Impact Analysis, Domain analysis, and Reliability, Maintainability and Availability. Must have strong verbal and written communication skill. Candidate must have the ability to work effectively within a team environment, ability to interface with other groups within the project, well developed problem-solving skills, and ability to work within a dynamic environment. Candidate must have demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work independently with multi-disciplined teams within the program.
This position's standard work schedule is a 5/40.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 3

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 5 years of Engineering experience, or Master's in STEM discipline with 3 years of Engineering experience, or PhD with 0 years of experience.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Systems Engineering skills, including requirements definition/allocation, interface definition, verification & validation, and life-cycle management.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide a wide variety of technical analyses and program management support to a government customer.
  • Exposure to Reliability, Maintainability and Availability area.
  • Working knowledge with Microsoft Office tools.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 4

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 9 years of Engineering experience, or Master's in STEM discipline with 7 years of Engineering experience, or PhD with 4 years of experience.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Systems Engineering skills, including requirements definition/allocation, interface definition, verification & validation, and life-cycle management.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide a wide variety of technical analyses and program management support to a government customer.
  • Exposure to Reliability, Maintainability and Availability area.
  • Working knowledge with Microsoft Office tools.


These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and present technical material to senior management and customers.
  • Familiarity and experience working with DoD acquisition organizations.
  • Experience designing and testing space systems and/or command & control systems.
  • Experience with the U.S. Air Force
  • Experience with Global Positioning System (GPS) related systems or projects.
  • Familiar with Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and the Unified Profile for DoDAF and MoDAF (UPDM).
  • Active DoD Top Secret security clearance.
