RF Test Engineer 2/3 - Third Shift

Working in Northrop Grumman Mission Systems means making a direct contribution to mission projects that keep our homeland safe, expanding the boundaries of possibility and reshaping the world we live in. Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Manufacturing Operations Test Engineering Team seeks an RF Test Engineer 2/3 to support the Advanced Microelectronics Cell (AMEC). AMEC is responsible for developing, building, and testing Active Feeds and TR Modules (TRMs) for multiple programs.

Roles and responsibilities of the RF Test Engineer include, but are not limited to:

  • Troubleshoot and support RF hardware -- Active Feeds and TRMs
  • Support First Time Through Test Yield (FTTTY) & hardware deliveries
  • Support technicians through troubleshoot & training
  • Analyze test data and identify early trends
  • Support program meetings in developing root cause and corrective actions
  • Collaboration with design engineering to develop and implement hardware improvements and solutions.

This is a 3rd Shift position. Typical 3rd Shift hours are from 10pm - 7:30am Monday-Friday, with some flexibility.

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 2:

  • BS degree in a science or engineering plus least 2 years of related experience or a MS degree with 0 years related experience
  • General knowledge of RF test equipment (scopes, power meter, spectrum analyzer, signal generator)
  • Firm understanding of S-parameter measurements using a network analyzer
  • Candidate should have analytical skills to review requirements, test plans and test scenarios
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work with manufacturing, test engineering & design engineering personnel
  • Candidate should be self-directed, organized, team oriented individual
  • Candidate should have previous experience of MS Office tools
  • Ability to obtain DoD Secret Level security Clearance. An interim Secret clearance is required to start.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and work with manufacturing, test engineering & design engineering personnel
  • Candidate should be self-directed, organized, team oriented individual
  • Candidate should have previous experience of MS Office tools
  • Ability to obtain DoD Secret Level security Clearance. An interim Secret clearance is required to start.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of RF theory & concepts
  • An understanding of the manufacturing processes used in AMEC (chip mount, wirebond, etc.)
  • Experience with automated testing is desired, but not required
  • Active US Secret Level security clearance
