RF Test Engineer 2/3

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Manufacturing Operations Test Engineering Team seeks an RF Test Engineer 2/3 to support the Advanced Microelectronics Cell (AMEC). AMEC is responsible for developing, building, and testing Active Feeds and TR Modules (TRMs) for multiple programs.

We are seeking a person who is interested in Test Engineering with a Radio Frequency (RF) background. The selectee will work with our advanced microelectronic products, and will support the development, integration, and testing of production hardware. The selectee's activities will range from hands-on testing, to analysis of failure trends, and root cause/ corrective action.

Roles and responsibilities of the RF Test Engineer include, but are not limited to:

  • Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment
  • Troubleshoot and support RF hardware
  • Support First Time Through Test Yield (FTTTY) & hardware deliveries
  • Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements.
  • Support technicians through troubleshoot & training
  • Analyze test data and identify early trends
  • Support program meetings in developing root cause and corrective actions
  • Collaboration with design engineering to develop and implement hardware improvements and solutions.

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 2:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering or other STEM Field and 2 years of related experience or a MS degree with 0 years related experience
  • General knowledge of RF test equipment (scopes, power meter, spectrum analyzer, signal generator).
  • Familiarity with basic concepts of RF circuit design and troubleshooting
  • Candidate should have analytical skills to review requirements, test plans and test scenarios.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work with manufacturing, test engineering & design engineering personnel
  • Candidate should be self-directed, organized, team oriented individual
  • Candidate should have previous experience of MS Office tools
  • Ability to obtain DoD Secret Level security Clearance. An interim Secret clearance is required to start.

  • General knowledge of RF test equipment (scopes, power meter, spectrum analyzer, signal generator).
  • Familiarity with basic concepts of RF circuit design and troubleshooting
  • Candidate should have analytical skills to review requirements, test plans and test scenarios.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work with manufacturing, test engineering & design engineering personnel
  • Candidate should be self-directed, organized, team oriented individual
  • Candidate should have previous experience of MS Office tools
  • Ability to obtain DoD Secret Level security Clearance. An interim Secret clearance is required to start.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of RF theory & concepts
  • An understanding of the manufacturing processes used in AMEC (chip mount, wirebond, etc).
  • Experience with automated testing is desired, but not required
  • Active US Secret Level security clearance
