RF Microwave Design Engineer 2

The Battlefield Airborne Communication Node (BACN) program at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a RF Engineer 02 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in San Diego, CA. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Engineering, Sciences & Technology organization, responsible for team leadership in innovative detail design ranging from chassis to aircraft payload, as well as the analysis necessary to satisfy program requirements. We are headquartered in the purpose built Spectrum Center facilities in San Diego, California.

Position will require:
Analysis, investigation, troubleshooting and resolution of RF tactical data links
Conduct research to support studies and trade-offs
Work with other engineering groups on the creation of test plans, procedures and drawings

Obtain and analyze RF data from lab tests, flight tests or operations.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field and 2 years of related work experience
Demonstrated knowledge with antennas performance, EMC/EMI, cosite analysis and link budgets.
Demonstrated understanding of RF/ Digital and Analog Comms principles and testing techniques
Demonstrated understanding of performance of RF components such as filters, diplexers, isolators.
Demonstrated success working individually or as part of a team requiring little supervision
Working knowledge of Spectrum Analyzer, Vector Analyzer and Power Meter.

Must be able to obtain a SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with previous cutting edge experience in a RF/ Analog development environment tactical radios and links on airborne platforms.
Previous classroom or on the job experience with one or more of the following tools; EMIT, STK, FEKO, HFSS
