Quality Manager 2- Annapolis, MD

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking a Quality Manager 2 to be located at our site in Annapolis, MD.

The Quality Manager is responsible for leading the Mission Assurance (MA) /Quality function for a business unit within Undersea Systems and the campus's audit process. The Quality Manager will lead a team of Quality Engineers that support various critical programs ensuring delivering high quality products and maintaining compliance across the organization and critical suppliers. The MA Manager will plan and execute the Program's MA plan using measurable goals and effectiveness criteria in support of the overall business strategy of the unit, division and sector. Candidates to have proven track record of solving complex problems through systematic and objective evaluation of information resulting in effective communication, championing, and implementation of change with a diverse set of internal and external customers and suppliers. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are essential. The Quality Manager reports to Mission Assurance Manager of the site.

This position has significant senior leadership influence, acts as thought leader and requires a candidate with strong executive presence and decision-making skills with the ability to lead in an environment of ambiguity and continuous change.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Manages the MA/Quality engineering team which performs program audits to specifications and product development plans.

Monitors program specifications, quality metrics, internal audit metrics and processes to ensure mission success.

Collaborates with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Global Supply Chain to ensure

quality is inherent in every requirement, design, work product, and end product

delivered by Northrop Grumman Undersea Systems.


Basic Qualifications:

BS Degree in an Engineering discipline or related technical field.

Eight (8) years of experience in Mission Assurance, Quality, Quality Engineering, Program Management, Engineering Management or Manufacturing.

Five (5) years of leadership experience.

Ability to obtain ad maintain a Secret Clearance is required. US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience managing/leading employees in a direct reporting and matrixed environment in dispersed locations.

Lean / Six Sigma certification to drive continuous improvement.

Work experience assisting with the DoD proposal process.

Experience with technical and project management.

Demonstrated understanding of the program / product lifecycle in the areas of new business pursuit, design, supply chain management, receiving operations, inventory control, production control, product test & evaluation, reliability, root cause analysis, product sell off, shipping and product support as they apply to quality.

Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management System certification process.

Familiarity with SAP.

Active Secret DoD Clearance.
