Quality Engineer 4

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a talented Quality Engineer, with a focus on Information/Cybersecurity and Supply Chain Risk Management, to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze regulatory and standards developments to determine their impact on the organization and ensure visibility into new or evolving product related regulatory initiatives with a focus on Information/Cybersecurity and Supply Chain Risk Management.
  • Develop a network of internal and external contacts to gather intelligence regarding developing areas of interest on the U.S. regulatory agendas as well as national and international standards committees.
  • Proactive involvement in regulatory and standards development and modifications to assist NGMS organizational stakeholders to develop recommendations/comments for developing/evolving regulations and standards
  • Process for monitoring the full lifecycle of identified regulatory issues from identification to validation
  • Keep current regarding pending and proposed legislation that may affect the organization in the future. Forecasting and staying ahead of these new rules will give the organization additional time to implement required compliance processes and controls. Provide constructive comments on behalf of the organization to influence regulatory guidance in the comment stage.
  • Benchmark NGMS positions, strategies, policies and procedures with industry peers
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related STEM discipline.
  • 9+ years of relevant experience in mission assurance/quality and/or engineering.
  • Comprehension of regulatory and/or industry standard technical requirements and the processes that would facilitate constructive comment to proposed /pending regulations/standards or compliance with implemented regulations/standards.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance. (US Citizenship required)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • The ability to articulate and negotiate complex subjects succinctly and clearly in order to communicate relevant subject information:
    • Participation in internal functional, sector and corporate meeting as well as external industry/government committees/meetings
    • Develop and deploy relevant training
  • The ability to develop negotiation strategies to support :
    • Comments to proposed relations/standards
