Quality Engineer (2/3)- Sykesville, MD

Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems is seeking a Quality Engineer 2/3 to join our team in Sykesville, MD.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Monitor systems and products to assure that the required quality levels are maintained both in-house and at vendor's sites.

Work with various other departments to coordinate corrective action and implement changes that assure product quality and reduce cost.

Will implement new procedures and verify the effectiveness of procedures already in place.

Work with inspection and manufacturing to evaluate issues for compliance to contract requirements.

Document compliant issues and help to resolve non-compliant issues through either rejection or through proper disposition avenues either internally or through the customer, as determined by the contract.

Evaluate and interpret customer contracts, government standards, military specifications and commercial standards.

Has interactions with customers, resident government representatives and vendors.

This requisition may be filled at either a level 2 or a level 3.

MAQEA

Basic Qualifications for Level 2:

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, or other technical discipline.

3 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 0 years of related experience with a Master's degree.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Confidential clearance.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 3:

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, or other technical discipline.

5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 3 years of related experience with Master's degree.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Confidential clearance.

Preferred Qualifications for Level 2 or 3:

Understanding and experience in the areas of welding and brazing to military standards and/or commercial standards.

Understanding in the areas of weld procedures, procedure qualification and welder qualification would be very useful to the successful candidate. Familiarity with any commercial and military welding standards..

Program Management experience.

Knowledge of SAP.

Knowledge of, and experience using, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing to ANSI Y14.5.

Knowledge and experience in the area of counterfeit parts mitigation.

Experience working with printed circuit assemblies to assist contract manufactures in the proper interpretation of NG requirements and evaluation of repair requests.

Experience working on proposals, including generating hours quotes and writing justification and rational for those hours.
