Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking a Program Quality Engineer 4 to join our team in Philadelphia, PA.

We are looking for a mechanically inclined Quality Engineer who has experience working with the design and manufacturing of products from start to finish. This position will work on both development and production programs. The Quality Engineer will work hands on in a manufacturing environment focused on DoD and commercial marine programs.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.
  • Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
  • Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
  • Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
  • Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
  • Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
  • Will specialize in the areas of design as they apply to product or process quality. Will work with mechanical specs.
  • Supports quality control inspections in a manufacturing environment.

MAQEA
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline.
  • 9+ years of experience working in Quality Engineering including 5+ years' of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with mechanical design requirements and specifications.
  • Experience using CAD or similar mechanical design software.
  • Experience working with materials.
  • Possess mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong computer, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. US Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Highly preferred to possess Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or Physics.
  • Proficient using a spatial analyzer, measurement software, and CAD software.
  • Experience with embedded software and electronics.
  • Knowledge of CMM.
  • Experience working in a DoD environment with experience working with ISO 9001 or AS9100.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, assembly, fabrication, machining or ship yard environment.
  • Training in Six Sigma and CI methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Mil-STD Welding, CMM, NDT techniques.
  • Knowledge of SAP.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance.
