Principal/Sr. Principal Linux Systems Administrator

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Linux Systems Administrator based out of Redondo Beach, CA.

What You'll get to Do:

The System Administrator will perform Linux OS installs (Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu), COTS and Open Source application installs and configurations, Active Directory integration, and may include Windows OS configuration. Duties will include, but not limited to:

  • Installing and maintaining Linux configurations in a secured environment
  • Hardening systems according to STIG, patch management, vulnerability remediation
  • Working with vendors to solve issues
  • Research technical problems
  • Work complex issues
Position is contingent upon final active SCI access.

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below

Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at either a Principal Level or a Sr. Principal Level.

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Systems Administrator:
  • Bachelor's degree with 6 years of relevant experience; Masters with 4 years of relevant experience; or 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of a completed degree
  • Systems administration experience of Linux operating systems
  • Current SCI access or current DoD Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access by start date
  • Current Security+ certification or ability to obtain Security+ certification
  • Experience with computer security requirements in secured environments

Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Systems Administrator:
  • Bachelor's degree with 10 years of relevant experience; Masters with 8 years of relevant experience; or 14 years of relevant experience in lieu of a completed degree
  • Systems administration experience of Linux operating systems
  • Current SCI access or current DoD Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access by start date
  • Current Security+ certification or ability to obtain Security+ certification
  • Experience with computer security requirements in secured environments

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Scripting experience
  • Experience with VMware ESXi and implementation of Open Source applications
  • Knowledge of networking and JSIG/RMF
  • Experience with NIST 800-171 compliance is a plus
  • Current SCI access
