Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Principal/Sr. Principal Embedded Software Engineer based out of Point Mugu, CA.
This role can be filled at either the Principle or Sr. Principal level.
What You'll get to Do:
We are seeking experienced software engineers for full time assignments supporting the design and development of Airborne Electronic Attack programs with our Navy Customer at Pt. Mugu. The focus of these assignments will be developing Mission Planning software for the Navy's Airborne Electronic Attack (AEA) Unique Planning Component (UPC) at Pt. Mugu. The successful candidate will have experience in design, development and integration in full life cycle software system development.
We are looking for experienced software engineers to work in a dynamic team environment that entails interaction with distributed teams including the Navy customer and other contractors whom are both co-located and remote. The position includes coordination and collaboration with external organizations and internal functional disciplines to plan, execute and work through program activities and issues; with strong oral/written communications skills and demonstrated technical leadership capabilities. This includes the maintenance of strong customer relationships and the ability to work in a schedule-driven, fast-paced software development environment in order to provide innovative technical solutions specific to electronic attack. Knowledge of the following avionics systems is helpful: EA-18G, Growler Block 2, MALD-N, JTT-R, ALQ-99/ALQ-249, and ALQ-218.
- BS degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) from an accredited institution with 5+ years (Principal Engr Embedded Software) or 9+ years (Sr. Principal Engr Embedded Software) of experience in the development and maintenance of real-time embedded software systems; Master's degree with 3+ years (Principal Engr Embedded Software) or 7+ years (Sr. Principal Engr Embedded Software) of experience; PhD with 0+ years (Principal Engr Embedded Software) or 4+ years (Sr. Principal Engr Embedded Software) of experience.
- Good working knowledge of Airborne Electronic Attack, Electronic Warfare, and Mission Planning
- Experience developing PC-based software applications Java, RabbitMQ, ASP.NET Core
- Experience with Agile/SAFe methodologies, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Cameo Systems Modeler, UML, RESTful Web Services, DevOps, CI/CD pipeline, Containers, InstallShield, Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS)
