Job Description:
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking a 508 Accessibility Software Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals located at Annapolis Junction.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Assist a product suite in implementing a large-scale accessibility (508) initiative. Investigated existing software code and make code changes in support of making the suite of products all accessible/508-compliant. Conduct peer-review testing of new code implemented by other development teams to ensure accessibility/508-compliance. Provide SME-level expertise to existing development teams to properly implement accessibility /508 enterprise standards in a consistent manner across the suite of products. Work with the UX Lead to ensure all accessibility changes maintain a consistent user experience. Conduct regular accessibility 508-compliance testing of each product in the suite using enterprise standards and best practices to determine an accessibility score, demonstrate progress towards accessibility and provide feedback to development teams on additional areas of improvement.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications
This position may be filled at the Principal or Sr Principal level

Educational / Years of experience required for Principal Level:
• BS Degree in a STEM field is required. 5 years' Java Development experience with some front-end experience. An additional 5 years of experience on projects with similar processes may be substituted in lieu of degree.
• 508 certified
• Experience implementing 508 (accessibility) standards
• Knowledge of IT accessibility requirements, including 508 standards, law and policy; and Customer experience
• Experience with our development tools: GIT, Eclipse, Maven, Linux, JIRA, Confluence
• Experience testing with JAWS
• Knowledge of GWT

Educational / Years of experience required for Sr Principal Level:
• BS Degree in a STEM field is required. 9 years' Java Development experience with some front-end experience. An additional 5 years of experience on projects with similar processes may be substituted in lieu of degree.
• 508 certified
• Experience implementing 508 (accessibility) standards
• Knowledge of IT accessibility requirements, including 508 standards, law and policy; and Customer experience
• Experience with our development tools: GIT, Eclipse, Maven, Linux, JIRA, Confluence
• Experience testing with JAWS
• Knowledge of GWT

Security Clearance Requirements: Active TS/SCI w/Polygraph

Preferred Qualifications:
• Extensive Front End experience including User Experience, User, Interface, and User Development and Integration
• 508 Certified with MPO Customer
• Java w/ some front end experience
• Experience with GWT
• Communications planning and management
• Customer service.
