Principal Systems Engineer

AOA Xinetics (AOX), a Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems (NGAS) strategic business unit, is currently seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to join its Team in East Hartford, CT. The Systems Engineer will perform typical SE functions in support of Government contracted development programs: requirements generation & management, ICDs, RVTM, Risk Management, OV diagrams, design validation, test plans & procedures, etc.

The successful candidate will ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into system wide solutions that acknowledge technical and schedule constraints. They will perform FMEA analysis, CONOP and usage analysis, requirements allocation, and interface definition review to flow down customer requirements to hardware and software design teams.

The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of the System Engineering principles mentioned above. They will work under general direction of Program Management while contributing to the successful completion of specific projects. In addition to those listed above, responsibilities may include supporting formal program gates, such as PDR, CDR and TRR, as well as requirements flow down, internal design reviews and reliability analysis. The successful candidate may also be responsible for compiling data and reporting test results.
Basic Qualifications:
BS in Engineering or related field with minimum of five (5) years of related experience.

Ability to clearly and effectively present technical material to various levels of audiences.

US Citizenship is a bona fide requirement as Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information

Preferred Qualifications:

Active Government Top Secret Clearance or SSBI

BS in optical, mechanical, photonics, or controls engineering

Experience with Opto-Mechanical or Electronic Systems

Direct experience interacting with Government/Contractor Systems Engineering
