Northrop Grumman Technology Services sector is seeking a Principal Systems Engineerto join our growing team of diverse professionals in Warner Robins, Georgiato support our C-130 Avionics Maintenance and Modernization Programs.

The Systems Engineer (SE) is responsible for coordination and collaboration with diverse engineering design teams to provide imaginative, technical solutions.


  • Collaborates with diverse engineering design teams to provide imaginative, technical solutions
  • Modernizes flight-decks, SIL development, conducting flight and ground testing
  • Supportsthe development of software requirements, software specifications, and usersystem development
  • Works closely with subject-matter experts and our customer, the United States Air Force
  • Liaises with Integrated Product Teams and other team members in order to prepare and present status updates and other presentations to stakeholders
  • Utilizes systems thinking and working knowledge of the full development life-cycle processes that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have one of the following:
    • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline with a minimum of 5 years of engineering experience.
    • Master's degree in a STEM discipline with a minimum of 3 years of engineering experience
    • PhD in a STEM discipline
  • Must be able to work on-site in Warner Robins, Georgia

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with navigation systems including GPS and/or inertial sensors.
  • Software Tools: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, Visio), Matlab, LabView, Clearquest/Clearcase, Simulink, DOORS, TeamCenter
  • Vehicle Management Systems / Flight critical LineReplaceable Unit (LRU)experience
  • Requirements development
  • Requirements verification testing
  • Proficiency with test equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, signal analyzers, multi-meters)
  • Experience with databuses (MIL-STD-1553B, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, ARINC 429, Ethernet)
  • Flight Test experience
  • Supplier management
  • Deep understanding of the GPS system, the GPS Signal in Space characteristics, DGPS systems, inertial sensors, GPS/INS tightly coupled Kalman filters, GPS receiver design
  • Experienced in Human Systems Integration
  • Demonstrated competency in Integration & Test (I&T) processes, to include simulation, embedded software, and systems testing procedures
