Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Systems Engineer based out of Point Loma, San Diego.
What You'll get to Do
Application of systems engineering processes to develop systems that meet customer requirements
Execution of trade studies to select from among multiple potential solutions
Perform Systems Requirements analysis
Requirements database development, management, maintenance experience (e.g. DOORS)
Management of requirements, include decomposition, allocation, verification, and validation
System modeling and simulation
Architecture, CONOPS, and use case development using model-based systems engineering methodologies
Perform analyses at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, and test.
Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
This position may be filled at a higher grade based on the requirements below.
This position may be filled as a Principal or Sr. Principal Systems Engineer.
Basic Qualificationsfor Principal Systems Engineer:
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field and 5 years of related experience; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD.
Basic Qualification for Sr. Principal Systems Engineer:
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field and 9 years of related experience; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD.
Basic Qualification for Principal and Sr. Principal Systems Engineer:
- Familiarity with real-time combat systems, specifically Navy systems such as Aegis, SSDS, E-2, etc
- Experience in developing software requirements for real-time systems.
- Experience with writing documents and reports, ECPs, feasibility studies, analysis of alternatives, ect.
- Must have an Active Secret
- Knowledge and experience with Tactical Data Link (TDL) MIL standards and requirements
- Experience with DOORS
- Familiarity with MIL-STD-6016 and other MIL-STDs, 6011, 6020, 3011, STANAG 5522, etc.
