The Algorithmic Warfare team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Principal or Sr. Principal Signal Image Processing Engineer based out of Falls Church, VA. We are looking for innovative scientists and engineers who are looking to tackle challenging problems with unknown solutions, using algorithms and data analytics.
What you'll get to do:
Probe large quantities of sensor data with signal processing and advanced data analytics to uncover, understand, and exploit complex phenomenology.
Research and develop statistical learning models for complex data problems to identify opportunities through various advanced statistical, mining, algorithmic, and visualization techniques or more advanced methods such as artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Develop techniques and procedures to measure algorithm performance to address mission requirements.
Develop and refine modeling and simulation tools to capture phenomenology and system performance, allowing trade studies and driving algorithm development.
Prototype algorithms in MATLAB, IDL, Python, C, and/or C++.
Package algorithms into solutions for use by leaders, operators, and analysts, including collaboration with a software engineering team to facilitate efficient algorithm implementation in real-time code.
Document results via written reports and present technical progress at technical review meetings for a wide range of audiences.
This position may be filled at the higher level based on the following qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline with 5 years oftechnical experience; Master's Degree with3 yearsof technical experience;PhD with 0 years experience.
Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline with 9 yearsof technical experience;Master's Degree with 7 years of technical experience;PhD with 4 years of technical experience.
Demonstrated success developing technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
Must be a U.S. citizen and possess an active DoD Top Secret security clearance.
Experience in any of the following areas is highly desired: data analysis, artificial intelligence/machine learning, signal processing techniques, statistical decision theory, modeling and simulation, algorithm development, particularly as applied to complex sensor systems and data.
Proficiency with scientific prototyping languages such as MATLAB, IDL, Python, and/or Mathematica.
Familiarity with signal processing algorithm design and implementation in C and/or C++, and real-time parallel processing.
Experience with technical customer interactions to build intimacy and shape program growth.
