Principal Project Management - Life Cycle Repairs and Spares

Working in Northrop Grumman Mission Systems means making a direct contribution to mission projects that keep our homeland safe, expanding the boundaries of possibility and reshaping the world we live in.

In this position, primary responsibility is to support, oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing Life Cycle Repairs and Spares projects and serve as liaison between Program Management and Production Control, Contracts, Financial Administration, Business Management, and Manufacturing Management. Responsible for sales, operating margin and customer satisfaction on assigned projects and for assisting in business capture. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Interfacing with customer for managing the repair and return of customer returned material
Directing all phases of programs/projects from inception through completion to assure adherence to contract commitments.
Providing leadership for evaluation, repair, manufacturing, integration, test, and life cycle support for assigned program products and systems.
Supporting development of product business plans including new business or product line expansion with the customer and within the business unit.
Establishing milestones and tracking adherence to master plans, costs and schedules.
Identifying program problems and obtaining solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications; risk and opportunity management.
Leading and coordinating the work of employees assigned to the program/project from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.
Reviewing status of projects and budgets
Managing schedules and preparing status reports
Assessing project issues and developing resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives
Achieving and presenting project metrics at monthly reviews
Capability with and ability to maintain databases including GOLD and SAP
Additionally, the Project Manager is expected to satisfy customer expectations of rapid product repair turn-around time, solve difficult repairs that involve component obsolescence, provide accurate and timely project status reporting to internal / external management.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree and 4 years experience.
Experience in project/program management, contracting, production control, or finance.
Must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain a Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
PMP certification
Advanced degree
