Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Project Management 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.
Project Management position involves managing and overseeing the operational aspects of ongoing F-35 program Support Equipment (SE) projects. Serves as liaison between project engineers, internal and external organizations such as Global Supply Chain (GSC), suppliers and management team. Liaises with GSC and suppliers to understand and resolve technical engineering issues associated with delivery of SE hardware.
Provides financial control and maintenance of budgets including EVMS indices and Variance Explanations as a member of the Control Account Manager team. Will be proficient and knowledgeable in managing labor and material dollars across multiple contracts for Support Equipment EVMS weekly and monthly deliverables. General understanding of Cost and Material accounting including knowledge of General Ledger accounts, Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders, networks and Material Master is preferred.
Prepares and manages schedules and prepares status reports on the health of the projects. Identifies risks and opportunities and coordinates with project teams to mitigate and retire risks. Develops and maintains SE proposals to include reviewing & updating Supplier Statements of Work (SSOW), preparing Basis of Estimates (BOEs), performing quality checks on all proposal submittals, attending proposal related reviews. Evaluates issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals and objectives. Prepares heading check executive level briefings for management and develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and tools for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and customers. Must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment, work autonomously under general direction and will demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Bachelor's degree
- 6 years of experience managing program/project budgets, schedules, risks/issues/opportunities, requirements or monitoring and reporting project/program status
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite - Project, PowerPoint, Excel and Word
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business or Engineering related discipline
- Preferred experiences include EVMS, MPM, Rapid, MS Access, SAP and Business Warehouse
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
