Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector (NGDS) is seeking a Principal Military Collective Trainer - Sustainment to join our growing team of diverse professionals supporting our III Corps Mission Command Training program at Fort Cavazos (Formerly Fort Hood) in Killeen, Texas. The selected candidate will represent the Sustainment Warfighting Function (WfF) on the Mission Command Training Team (MCTT) at the Fort Cavazos, Texas (FCTX) Mission Command Training Center (MTC). This team is chartered with providing the skills, innovative technologies to develop, design, produce and sustain optimized training products and events for U.S. Army customer units providing a decisive advantage to the warfighter.

In support of the Mission Training Center, the Principal Collective Trainer for Sustainment is an integral part of the collective training team and exercise design at our site. Must be a subject matter expert in the Sustainment warfighting function in addition to being a subject matter expert for all the tasks required of the collective training team. The Principal Collective Military Trainer is prepared to assist other team members in the design and execution of small to large exercises requiring simulations support and can take lead in the mentoring and over-the-shoulder training of staffs within III Corps. Also ensures the team can connect Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) simulations within one week of notice.
Responsibilities:
  • Mission Command Staff Collective Training to include the Military Decision-Making Process, Mission Command staff processes, Tactical Operations Center (TOC) functions, and tactical operations using Mission Command Information Systems (MCIS)
  • Develops products and synchronize databases to support training for Mission Command exercises
  • Responsible for establishing and providing Battle Staff Integration; oversees the Joint Land Component Constructive Training Capability (JLCCTC) Multi-resolution (MRF)
  • Provides end users with a command post exercise simulation configured to specifications provided by the operations officer
  • Must collaborate with other War Fighting Functions (WfF)
  • Assist units in the development of training requirements and exercise training tasks for TOCs and subordinate staff war fighting functions
  • Serves as Sustainment WfF Lead for the Higher Control Cell (HICON). Responsible for developing the training requirements based on commanders training objectives (CTOs) and MTC activities to simulate or stimulate higher headquarters requirements during exercises
  • Trains assistant instructors (AIs) maintains and updates Programs of Instruction (POIs) and coordinates RTOC, work cell and/or classroom setup and connectivity with technical staff
  • Provides input and quality control of distributed products associated with Mission Command Systems
  • Demonstrates expert knowledge of Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE) and Joint Battle Command - Platform (JBC-P) systems, processes, tactical current operations, and Mission Command doctrine. Other duties and projects as assigned by the Site Manager
Basic Qualifications:
  • Able to communicate and share constructive perspective to achieve success of task and missions present and future
  • Hold a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance
  • Willing to travel as needed (up to 10% of the time)
  • Have experience in operations and training requirements at division/ESC or higher level; have a background in training management; possess a minimum of ten (10) years of supervisory experience.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of US Army Logistics operations, a comprehensive understanding of human resources and Army health support, the Sustainment warfighting function, and their inter-dependencies with other warfighting functions.
  • Must have served as an Operations Officer and or Executive Officer / Support Operations Officer at Battalion or Brigade level or staff primary or senior assistant/deputy at general staff level
  • Must be Military Education Level 4 (MEL 4) / Intermediate Level Education (ILE) trained
  • Be able to work on-site at Fort Cavazos (Formerly Fort Hood) in Texas
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BA / BS degree, subject immaterial
  • CTC Observer Controller and or Small Group Instructor
  • former service as a BN CDR and MEL 1
  • Able to correspond and communicate with senior military leaders at a peer level, recent deployment experience, working knowledge of 6 TOC functions, MSEL development and pre-exercise sustainment start data.
Salary Range: $67,800 USD - $101,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
