Principal Engineer System Modeling Simulation

The Principal Engineer System Modeling Simulation develops new and/or integrates existing system simulation frameworks, performance models and algorithms, threat models and command and control models. The Principal Engineer SystemModeling Simulationsimulates real-time operations and develops software that simulates behavior of systems and develops, integrates and uses advanced graphical user interfaces and visualization tools. The Principal Engineer Modeling Simulation models operational environments, performs trade studies via computer simulation and recommends alternative architectures and performs operational analysis and mission effectiveness analysis.
Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Aeronautics, Aerospace, Physics or related curriculum with 5 years relevant experience (3 years experience with Master of Science Degree).
    Four years of experience with programming in MATLAB, C/C++, Python, or other programming language
    Experience in developing performance models and algorithms
    Experience in model development of real time operations
    Experience in creating plans, test scripts, and/or conducting performance analysis
  • Must havean active Top Secret level security clearance.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Strong analytical skills in one or more of the following:
    • Sensor modeling development and integration into simulation framework
    • Knowledge of digital communications, RF system analysis
    • Basic knowledge of antennas, antenna polarization, power density and spectral roll off
    • Mission modeling including operational analysis and mission effectiveness
      • Knowledge of spacecraft bus design and analysis
      • Experience with astrodynamics modeling systems for mission analysis & planning
      • Mission design and analysis
    • Signal processing algorithms and implementation
      • Experience in the use of UNIX/Linux based workstations
    • Systems engineering development lifecycle including requirement decomposition, developing system state transitions diagrams, mission use cases, sequence diagrams, activity diagrams, mission threads, network node diagrams

    Active SCI clearance is preferred.
