The Antenna Products Department is looking for a Principal Structural Design Engineer to join our department to support the design and production of a Feed Assembly. This position is based in Redondo Beach, CA. The selected candidate will perform the following tasks:
-Design and release metallic and composite parts and assemblies usingCREO/Pro Engineering and Enovia.
-Generate a drawing release plan to meet customer flight delivery schedule.
-Lead and assist in the following tests of the antenna hardware: non-destructive testing, vibration testing, thermal cycle testing, and structural static testing.
-Collaborate with RF electrical, thermal, stress, and manufacturing engineers on design and testing solutions.
-Disposition discrepant hardware during manufacturing and assembly.
-Lead a mechanical design team of 2 junior level engineers.
-Present design solutions to the customer at design reviews.

Bachelors of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil Engineer or other STEM related type degree from an accredited institution and5 Years of experience;3 Years with Masters;0 Years with PhD.
Proficiency of spacecraft structures including primary/secondary structure made of metallic, advance composites, and/or Honeycomb materials and construction
Experience with CREO/Pro Engineering, Catia 5, NX or other 3-D CAD software package
Experience of discrepant hardware processes
Experience with creating and releasing drawings
Master's Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil Engineer or other STEM related type degree from an accredited institution
Minimum of 5years of experience developing space hardware and mechanisms
* Experience with Antenna systems and Architecture
Experience with RF components and assemblies
Experience with electronics integration, packaging, and cable & harness design
Knowledge of A&E Hardware
Ability to perform trade studies
Experience with creating and developing preliminary layouts
Proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Experience with Mathlab or Mathcad
*Experience with environmental testing requirements and experience with mechanical testing
