Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is looking for you to join our team as a Software Engineer or Principal Software Engineer based out of Aurora, CO.

What You'll get to Do:


The Software Engineer will design, develop, document, test and debug application software and special data processing systems.

  • Candidate will participate in designing code solutions while working as part of a small team.
  • Teams are comprised of other software engineers of various experience levels. Some interaction with users is expected.
  • Team interactions include brainstorming, design guidance, requirements resolution and group coding best practices.
  • This is a great opportunity for a flexible self-starter to work in a dynamic environment with real world technical content supporting a number of tools and systems.
  • Good written and verbal skills are important.

This requisition may be filled at a higher job grade based on the qualifications listed below.

Qualifications:

This position may be filled as either a Principal Engineer Software or a Sr Principal Engineer Software.

Basic Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Engineer Software:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science and 5+ years of software engineering experience; 3+ years with a Masters; 0 years with a PhD; 7+ years with an Associates; or 9+ years' experience in lieu of a degree
  • Active Top Secret clearance is required to start this position
  • Experience with C++ and Java
  • Knowledge of object oriented design and software lifecycles
  • Experience with at least one of the following: Event stream processing, Pub/Sub methods, Rest APIs or cloud architecture


Basic Qualifications for a Sr Principal Engineer Software:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science and 9+ years of software engineering experience; 7+ years with a Masters; 4 years with a PhD; 11+ years with an Associates; or 13+ years' experience in lieu of a degree
  • Active Top Secret clearance is required to start this position
  • Experience with C++ and Java
  • Knowledge of object oriented design and software lifecycles
  • Experience with at least one of the following: Event stream processing, Pub/Sub methods, Rest APIs or cloud architecture


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI access
  • Knowledge of Microservice and Service Mesh Architectures
  • Experience with creation, deployment, and management of VMs
  • Demonstrated experience with automated testing procedures
  • Web development experience with standard web technologies (i.e. React, Angular, MaterialUI, etc)
