Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening foraEngineer Reliability3to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.

The selected candidate will beassigned work in the Global Mission Excellence & Logistics organization performing System Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) Engineering Analysis for E-2D Advance Hawkeye programs.

Essential Functions:

  • Establish, monitor and verify subsystem R&M performance requirements for all fielded aircraft, design changes, and new development efforts to ensure that R&M program requirements are achieved
  • Utilizereliability, maintainability, and availability techniques including R&M allocations and predictions, Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Failure Reporting Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS), Built In Test (BIT) testability analysis, and mission reliability analysis
  • Act as a liaison with Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and suppliers for the R&M of assigned subsystems
  • Propose changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process reliability
  • Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards
  • Support R&M testing activities to include maintainability demonstrations

Desired Functions:
  • Support Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT), Reliability Growth Testing (RGT), and Environmental Stress Screening (ESS)
  • Develop, coordinate and conduct technical reliability studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts and design of experiments (DOE) constructs
  • Recommend design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability
  • Compile and analyze performance reports and process control statistics; investigate and analyze relevant variables potentially affecting product and processes
  • Analyze preliminary plans and develop reliability engineering programs to achieve company, customer and governmental agency reliability objectives
  • Develop mathematical models to identify units, batches or processes posing excessive failure risks
  • Determine units and/or batches requiring environmental testing, and specifyminimum number of samples to obtain statistically valid data

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and5+ years ofreliability engineering experience OR Master's Degree in STEM and3+ years ofreliability engineering experience
  • Must have an Active, In-Scope DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted / renewed within the past 5-6 years
  • Must have the ability to obtain special program access
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering discipline from an accredited university and5+ years ofreliability engineering experience
  • Master's Degree in Reliability Engineering and3+ years related experience
  • Excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
  • Active, In scope DOD Top Secret or SCI clearance
