The Research and Development team within Launch Vehicles at the Chandler, AZ facility, seeks a professional experienced in problem solving, out of the box thinking, and passionate about advancing technologies from cradle to wide-spread use.
Current team projects include advancements in vibration attenuation, thermal protection, optimized strength to weight ratio, polymer properties, and radiation shielding.
A research background in technologies such as composites, Additive Manufacturing, spin forming, Carbon or Boron Nitride Nano Tubes, graphene, resin systems, or advanced materials is a plus.

Candidate's effort will focus on analytical and experimental research balanced with small scale process development. The emphasis will be on Mechanical Engineering disciplines in a launch vehicle context, but advancements to the broader range of products offered by Northrop Grumman will merit attention.

9 Years with Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD.
If offered at level 3 Principal Engineer Mechanical
5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD
Availability for minimal travel 0-10%
