Principal Electromagnetic Interference / Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMI / EMC) Engineer Systems

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Principal EMI/EMC Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.
The Principal EMI/EMC Engineer will assist the lead EMI/EMC engineer responsible for the complete compliance process including technical, cost, and schedule performance.

Essential Functions:

  • Review and tailor EMI/EMC requirements to meet specified product performance for all aspects of Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) compliance, including EMI/EMC/EME/ESD/EMP and lightning.
  • Review EMI test procedures and EMI test reports
  • Witness MIL-STD-461 Tests

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 5+ years of software engineering experience OR-
    • Master's Degree in STEM and 3+ years of experience OR
    • PhD in STEM and 0 years of experience
  • Must have an Active In-scope DoD Secret SecurityClearance that has been granted / renewed within the past 5 years
  • The Ability to obtain additional Special Access Program (SAP) clearance before establishing a start date (contingency)
  • Experience with MIL-STD-464 or MIL-STD-461


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of EMI / EMC testing
  • Knowledge of EMI / EMC analysis software
  • Previous EMI / EMC design leadership experience
  • iNARTE certification
