Implements and maintains smooth operation and physical design of databases. Conducts performance tuning of indexes and databases in general. Reviews database design and integration of systems, provides backup recovery and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements. Maintains security and integrity controls. Formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization. May develop stored procedures and/or triggers.
Install, upgrade, and maintain databases
Assures databases function properly
Troubleshooting issues using problem-solving skills
Monitor databases, execute scripts, and create backups to ensure access and the consistency of data
- Must have at least 6 years of applied experience with Bachelors Degree; 4 Years with Masters. In lieu of formal degree, High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and at least 10 years of applied experience
- Must have an active DoD Secret clearance with ability to maintain
- Must be able to obtain and maintain at a minimum DoD 8570 Series IAT Level II Certification (Security+ and OS)
- Must be able to obtain Special Program Access within 365 days with ability to maintain
- Must be able to obtain a Top Secret DoD clearance with ability to maintain
