PM / Scrum Master

Northrop Grumman Technical Services sector is seeking a Project Manager / Scrum Master with a MicroStrategy background to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting a Federal Government customer in Washington, DC.

We are looking for someone has good communication skills, self-driven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic customer-focused environment. In this role, the project manager will work closely with the Program Manager to manage daily project activities across a diverse set of projects, get status updates from developers, escalate issues to the Program Manager as needed, and provide project timeline and financial status reports. In order to be successful in this role, we expect that qualified candidates will have the following:

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a team leader with experience in project and task management, responsible for ensuring successful task completion within the scheduled timeframe consistent with the established scope of work to include technical, process and financial solutions.
  • Develops, plans, organizes and leads major technology-related consulting assignments as well as those requiring a high degree of creativity.
  • Determines objectives and methodology; selects and assigns staff; establishes and monitors schedules and progress, taking corrective action as necessary.
  • Manage development activities in an Agile fashion using the VersionOne toolset. This includes running the Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums, and Sprint Demos / Retrospectives.
  • Manage and update a program level project plan along with bi-weekly status reports
  • Manage multiple timeline driven activities in a dynamic environment.
  • Drive MicroStrategy Business Analytics projects from Inception to Requirements solicitation to Development and Implementation.
  • Represent IT in customer meetings and escalate issues to IT management as required.
  • Committed to learning the customer's business in order to ensure that the work products developed supports their mission.
  • Responsible for multiple project output and deliverables.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Academic background: Bachelor's degree with 12 years of experience or Master's degree with 9 years of of experience
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience managing software projects
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Project 2010 and/or 2013
  • Strong working knowledge of corporate TSLC process and procedures
  • Strong working knowledge of Agile methodology and using tools such as VersionOne, etc…
  • Strong awareness of the capabilities of MicroStrategy 10i or higher and the capability to communicate these to Sr. Managers.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Scrum Master and/or Project Manager certification
  • Experience with requirements solicitation
  • Experience with workflow management tools such as Team Track, Serena Business Manager, HP ALM and/or Microsoft TFS.
