Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for aPilot Unmanned Aerial Vehicle 4to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA.
Essential Functions:

  • Pilot Level 4 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) for developmental test and production acceptance flights for the RQ-4B and MQ-4C systems at USAF Plant 42.
  • Remotely pilots vehicle to determine compliance with specification and operational suitability during engineering tests and flight test/demonstration support through specifically prescribed tests and maneuvers. Defines plans, organizes and executes complex flight programs and flight test events in accordance with military, FAA and ICAO procedures.
  • Conducts briefings and debriefings, and coordinates with maintenance personnel to analyze and correct vehicle discrepancies.
  • Candidate may conduct demonstration flights with customers, government officials or other personnel to exhibit vehicle performance, flying qualities and system capabilities.
  • Position based at Palmdale, CA requiring occasional travel.
  • Selected candidate must successfully complete RQ-4 UAV training and qualification program and receive Government Flight Representative (GFR) certification as a basis for continued employment. SITEAS
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree plus nine years ofaviation experience.
  • Position requires experience as a flight operations crew member.
  • Must be FAA commercial instrument rated pilot (or military equivalent) plus current FAA Class II Medical or better.
  • Minimum of 500 hours of flight experience as Pilot in Command and able to maintain instrument currency in manned aircraft.
  • Musthold anActiveDoD Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current/qualified in Global Hawk highly desirable.
  • Military flight experience highly desirable.
  • Flight test experience, multi-engine rated, FAA single engine commercial rating, aviation instructor experience also preferred.
