Join the Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector as we focus on the development of new capabilities for our military and intelligence customers around the globe. Rolling Meadows, IL is looking for a Physicist to join our Advanced Concepts group.

Works as part of a team to conducts research and development leading to the creation of new technologies and systems for the protection of the United States, its inhabitants and its allies. The current position is particularly focused on the development and test of electro-optical and infrared technologies and systems. Areas of particular interest include electro-optical and infrared countermeasures. Work assignments may involve analysis, simulation, modeling, design, test, and/or demonstrations of electro-optical/infrared components, subsystems and/or systems. Responsibilities may include the selection, development and/or operation of electrical and optical test equipment in both laboratory and field environments.

MSRMM

Basic Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree with two years work experience, or an advanced degree, in physics, engineering physics, optical engineering, electrical engineering, or similar technical field.

Excellent interpersonal and communications skills

Previous success in functioning within an advanced development team (which may include academic experience)

U.S. citizen with ability to obtain both basic and special security clearances

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters degree or higher

Active secret or higher security clearance

Experience with mathematical, physical, and optical and computer software packages such as MATLAB, Mathcad, Zemax, GLAD, C and Python

Demonstrated aptitude for innovation
