Northrop Grumman SSSD is seeking an Operations Support Engineer OR Principal Operations Support Engineer to be a member of a cross-discipline specialist engineering team located in Aurora, CO.

This role is responsible for system problem/anomaly resolution support, data trending, operational product updates, and performance analyses. The team also provides program expertise on engineering subsystems and maintains a baseline of operational products for a complex system.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Development and improvement of operations procedures or processes
  • Development and improvement of operational scripts, including unit testing and system testing
  • Investigation and diagnosis of unexpected system signatures
  • Supporting the coordination and execution of system maintenance tasks and coordinating across multiple contractor organizations including customer and external system partners to diligently accomplish all tasks
  • Providing 24x7 on-call support to lead the resolution of system issues and anomalies.
  • May involve periodic rotating crew shifts to maintain proficiency

Basic Qualifications for Operations Support Engineer:
  • Bachelor's degree in an STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with two (2) years relevant professional experience within an Aerospace engineering role
  • Ability to work as an effective member of a badgeless team, be self-motivated, and work under general direction while independently determining and developing approaches to solutions
  • Ability to utilize MS Office Tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to execute responsibilities as needed within role (presentations, internal/external communications, data collection, etc.)
  • Experience and/or education in one or more of the following areas: Radio Frequency (RF), Digital, Power, Thermal, Dynamics, Control, and/or Communications systems design and operational use
  • Ability to develop and maintain operational procedures, products and training materials
  • Willing and able to work odd and/or extended hours covering a 24/7 period and periodic rotating 12-hour shifts
  • Possession of an active SCI or DoD Top Secret or DoE Q clearance with an SSBI and counterintelligence polygraph examination
    Basic Qualifications for Principal Systems Engineer:
    • Bachelor's degree in an STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with Five (5) years relevant professional experience within an engineering role;
      • OR Master's degree with three (3) years relevant professional experience within an Aerosapce engineering role
    • Ability to work as an effective member of a badgeless team, be self-motivated, and work under general direction while independently determining and developing approaches to solutions
    • Ability to utilize MS Office Tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to execute responsibilities as needed within role (presentations, internal/external communications, data collection, etc.)
    • Experience and/or education in one or more of the following areas: Radio Frequency (RF), Digital, Power, Thermal, Dynamics, Control, and/or Communications systems design and operational use
    • Ability to develop and maintain operational procedures, products and training materials
    • Willing and able to work odd and/or extended hours covering a 24/7 period and periodic rotating 12-hour shifts

    Preferred Qualifications:
      • Previous experience with troubleshooting and performing analysis on operational systems
      • Familiarity and practical use with Matlab, Python and Perl scripting languages
      • Familiarity with Linux

      • Salary Minimum: $77,592
      • Salary Maximum: $116,928
      Principal Operations Support Engineer
      • Salary Minimum: $96,600
      • Salary Maximum: $144,900
      Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
