Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for aNuclear surety Engineer 4to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.

This position is responsible for the planning and coordinating preparation of project documentation, such as engineering drawings, production specifications and schedules, and contract modifications, to ensure customer contract requirements are met. Reviews contract to determine documentation required for each phase of project, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes. Analyzes proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system. Coordinates modification records for management control. Establishes change orders and prepares for change authorization and documentation by company and subcontractor. Reviews and analyzes released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities.

Job Duties: Conduct technical nuclear surety analyses, nuclear certification assessments, and risk& vulnerability analyses to evaluate compliance with nuclear surety requirements. This includes safety/security evaluations of the design, operation, and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, communication, data systems, handling, nuclear command & control, and software. Perform analyses (e.g., FMEA, Fault Tree, Threat Vector Analyses, etc.) to demonstrate compliance and identify design changes. Document the results of the analyses and take the document through formal review. Support IPTs in the development of their design to ensure compliance with nuclear surety standards. Present technical results of the analyses to internal and external customers. Perform as an independent contributor to determine and perform the required analyses.

Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 9+ years of experience in Nuclear Surety Engineering
* Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 7+ years of experience in Nuclear Surety Engineering.
* 9+ years of experience working with Nuclear Surety policy and processes in a DoD or contracting environment
* Current DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience conducting Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
* Good verbal and interpersonal skills required to work closely with teammates, stakeholders (Air Force Safety Center, Nuclear Weapons Center, National Security Agency, etc.) and customers.
* Technical experience evaluating and/or developing nuclear certified hardware and software
* Familiarity with interoperability certification processes and agencies like AFSIT and JITC
* Knowledge and experience with evolving nuclear surety policy on supply chain risks associated with complex logic-bearing devices and use of commercial-off-the-shelf hardware and software products in nuclear certified applications
* Familiarity with nuclear certified software IV&V and NSCCA processes and tools
