Overview: Northrop Grumman is seeking an Engineer Manager to manage Nuclear Surety and System Safety engineering teams in support for the Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) weapon system and other nuclear weapon systems under development by the Air Force.

Job Duties: Manage and provide technical leadership/oversight for a team of 10 12 engineers supporting sustainment and modernization of the Air Force ICBM fleet. The team conducts safety and nuclear surety evaluations of the design, operation, and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, propulsion, transportation & handling, nuclear command & control, software, and communications subsystems. The team also provides technical support to the AF ICBM System Program Office System Safety Lead and Nuclear Certification Manager. Duties include team task management, external and internal customer interface, budget planning and management, team engagement activities, and staff performance and goal evaluation, team technical work product review and feedback, and team recruiting/hiring support. Duties also include senior level technical performer work in the system safety and nuclear surety domain.

Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in an engineering or related scientific field with 14+ years related experience; or a Master's degree with 12+ years of related experience
* Experience with DoD and AF Nuclear Surety policy and processes
* Experience with DoD, and AF System Safety standards and processes
* Must be a US Citizen with an active SECRET security clearance and ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
* ICBM work experience, particularly related to ICBM design, operations, requirements, maintenance, or security
* Experience with Mil-Std-882E analyses, including System Hazard Analysis, Operating & Support Hazard Analysis, System-of-systems Hazard Analysis, Environmental Hazard Analysis, Hazard Log implementation and support, and software safety analysis
* Experience with AFSPCMAN 91-710 Range Safety Policies and Procedures
* Experience with Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
* Excellent technical writing skills
* Good verbal and interpersonal skills required to work closely with teammates, stakeholders (Air Force Safety Center, Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, National Security Agency, etc.) and other external customers
* An Active Top Secret Security Clearance
