NSDC Engineer Software 4

Northrop Grumman is looking for a Software Engineer to join a contract in support of the National Space Defense Center at our Colorado Springs, CO location.

The responsibilities of this position are:

  • To develop and integrate existing capabilities and applications into the NSDC using Agile / DevOps practices
  • Close gaps in current systems and software; Mature R&D solutions for evaluation in operational environments
  • Integrate standalone applications into enterprise services.
  • Successful candidates must be able to work in a dynamic small team environment.
  • Willing to perform multiple roles on the team, while being flexible to changing needs and demands.

Basic Qualifications:
- 9 years of related experience with Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)discipline; 5 Years with Masters in STEM discipline; 0 Years with Ph.D in STEM discipline with experience and expertise in software
development and testing.
- Must have an understanding of software engineering, design, development, and testing
- Ability to analyze high-level needs and through a structured and logical approach refine the need into an integrated set of
requirements that leads to a fielded product
- Excellent communications skills (written and oral) - Ability write and implement engineering plans within a project
- Ability communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings
- Proven interaction in a team environment
- Position requires an active Top Secret and ability to obtain SCI

Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience with Unix OS
- Experience in Agile and DevOps Practices
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Build environments and tools
- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills, demonstrated by frequent and successful application of technical
standards, theories, concepts, and techniques
- Proven teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Ability to interface effectively with users, customers, management, and other engineering personnel
- Experience working in direct support of customers
- Systems Engineering experience
- Integration and Test experience
- Familiarity with Space Systems
- Familiarity with Command and Control Systems
- Familiarity with Battle Management Systems
