Network Installer / Field Technician 3
Northrop Grumman is seeking a motivated professional to join our team as a Network Installer supporting the United States Army Intelligence Center Chief Information Officer G6 (USAICoE CIO-G6) on the War Fighter Focus contract. This position is located in Fort Huachuca, AZ.
The successful candidate will be working the Network Operations team as a Network Installer. The Candidate must be familiar with Layer 1 physical infrastructure installation and testing of Category 6 copper and single mode fiber optic cabling. Prior experience working in educational environments and knowledge of BICSI, EIA/TIA and Army I3A standards is a plus. We are seeking an individual that is motivated to learn and advance within our team.
Duties include, but are not limited to;
- Installing, terminating and testing Category 6 copper cabling systems within a classroom
- Installing, terminating and testing SM FOC backbone infrastructure
- Preparing BOM (Bill of Materials) and ROM(Rough order of Magnitude)
- Creating As-built drawings using MS Visio and/or MS PowerPoint
Must possess a Bachelor's degree AND a minimum of 2 years of related experience. (An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree requirement. Combined total of 6 or more years between education and relevant experience.)
Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance.
Must possess in depth knowledge of layer one LAN technologies to include the planning, installation, termination, and testing of UTP/STP category 6 and fiber optic cabling.
Must possess the ability to read, understand and red line blueprints.
Must possess the ability to create a bill of materials based on provided blueprints.
Must possess a working knowledge of cabling standards to include Cat6 UTP and STP, multi-mode and single-mode fiber optics and the ability to manufacture these cabling standards when needed.
Must be physically able to lift 50lbs and work on a ladder for extended periods of time.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Working knowledge of MS Visio.
Current Network certification.
- Security certification.
