Northrop Grumman is looking is seeking a Network Communications Technician to join our Suffolk, VA Tethered Aerostat Radar System (TARS) Support Services (TSS) team supporting US. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The successful candidate will serve as technical architect and systems integrator for the TARS Enterprise Network (TEN) infrastructure. This individual will be experienced in the design, configuration, testing, installation, deployment, documentation, and optimization of network infrastructure.

Role and Responsibilities:

Manage and provide technical leadership of TSS program projects.
Plans, evaluates, and coordinates installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication network.
Prepares or ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions.
Develop and deploy processes and strategies to design and thoroughly test unique solutions in a collaborative team environment.
Determination and work problem identification and root cause analysis, to include problem report management and resolution tracking of issues on the TEN infrastructure.
Provides regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems
Utilize IT security tools and processes to maintain the Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability (CIA) of the TEN.
May require on-call duty scheduling, in support project system integrations / maintenance as well as new technology implementations as required.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2+ years of related hands-on experience with network devices such as Cisco routers, switches and firewalls (OR additional 4 years related work experience may be substituted in lieu of the educational degree requirement).
Must have current CompTIA Security+ certification.
Must have experience and familiarity with IT integration and implementation projects.
Must have general knowledge of IP dynamic routing (specifically EIGRP), static routing, route redistribution principles and configuration in an enterprise environment.
Must have a familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (to include: Visio/Excel/ PowerPoint/Project) to prepare and modify engineering documents and drawings.
Must have the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance, U.S citizen is required.
Must have the ability to obtain favorably adjudicated CBP Background Investigation (BI).
May be required to periodically travel (15%) to support project system integrations / maintenance as well as new technology implementations, as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

CCNP certification.
Experience implementing DISA STIGs.
Cisco TAC resolution experience.
Experience with the following network technologies: VTI, IKEv2, SNMP, SSH, TACACS+, AAA, port-security and 802.1x.
Experience with Packet Capture Tools (Sniffers), such as Wireshark.
Experience in radar theory.
Radar digitizer and radar format converter experience.
Familiarity with XML, API and KML.
Experience using INFOR Enterprise Asset Management system.
