Navy CYBER Trainer

The primary responsibilities include:

  1. On a daily basis, work directly with Afloat Training Group Mayport trainers in order to complete afloat CYBER and Communications Mission Area events as directed by the Surface Force Readiness Manual (SFRM) and Surface Force Exercise Manual (SFEM). The candidate will conduct administrative and material assessments of ships' classified and unclassified Local Area Networks.

  2. Upon completion of training, consolidate comments and recommendations in End of Mission Reports and when required, provide written and oral debriefs to the Mission Area Leads.

  3. Review Mission Area associated administrative, material assessment and training materials to ensure compliance with Fleet regulations.

  4. Attend Mission Area conferences and provide post meeting Way Ahead recommendations.

  5. Conduct Mission Area review of Level Of Knowledge exams. Validate the accuracy of test bank questions to ensure test material reflects current policies and directives.

  6. Provide assistance to the customers Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM).

  7. Assist customer with Authority To Operate (ATO) guidance.

Basic Qualifications:

  1. Must possess a Bachelor's degree with 3 years' experience or 7 years' experience in lieu of degree.

  2. Must have a Security Certification good for at least 2 years.

  3. Must have experience with Navy training operations, policy, doctrine, systems and staff procedures.

  4. Must have 3-5 years' experience working with shipboard LANS; classified and unclassified.

  5. Must have proficiency in using Microsoft Officer Products.

  6. Must have a current Secret Clearance and be eligible for a Top Secret clearance in order to support equipment assessments and training in SCI spaces.

  7. Must be a US Citizen.

  8. Experience developing, implementing and maintaining Information assurance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. CompTia Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) good for at least 2 years.

  2. Experience establishing an ATO.

  3. 5 or more years of Navy Cyber experience.

  4. Instructor Qualified 9502 NEC.

  5. Afloat Training Specialist or Master Training Specialist.

  6. Microsoft Server 2008 Qualifications, or more recent (i.e. Server 2012).

  7. Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) in past 5 years.

  8. Consolidated Afloat Network and Enterprise Services (CANES) School.
