NATO AGS Ground Element Technician

Northrop Grumman Technology Services is seeking self-motivated, hard-working full-time Ground Element Technician 3 for the NATO AGS Program in NAS Sigonella, Italy (Sicily). The selected candidates will be responsible for configuration, troubleshooting, removal and installation, checkout, scheduled/unscheduled maintenance, and COMSEC of the Deployable UAV ground element communication system. Will directlysupportreal world missionsof the NATO AGS Global Hawk Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) located at NAS Sigonella. Utilizes SGI/Microsoft/Sun based computer workstations and associated SolarisUNIX/Windows based software to interfacewith equipment,identifyerrors, and resolve discrepancies. Must be familiar with PC hardware and software, RF communication links, satellites, and Ethernet/ATM based networking configuration to component level only. Utilizes appropriate maintenance data base to document and track scheduled/unscheduled activities. Provides continuous support to system operational missions; includes planning, allocation of communications assets, mission execution and in-flight troubleshooting while engaging with multiple entities. All performed tasks on customer assets will be completed per technical data and approved engineering documentation. Daily responsibilities will include configurations, link establishment, coordination, mission execution, data archiving, status reporting, and proper documentation of tasks performed. Position does not entail aircraft maintenance activities.
Basic Qualifications:
AA or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline. In lieu of formal education, 2 years of relevant experience will be considered. Must have ability to obtain Secret Level DoD Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications: AA or other technical degree in telecommunications or IT discipline and 2-4 years of relevant experience, prior military background, RF fundamentals, FCC GROL, Comp TIA A+, Linux +, Security +, and basic networking background. Must have ability to obtain Secret Level DoD Clearance.
