Modeling and Simulation- Systems Engineer 3/4

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, Baltimore, MD, has multiple openings for candidates with degrees and experience in the fields of Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math, Physics or other related disciplines. Strong candidates possess experience and knowledge in one or more of the following: radar or related systems engineering (e.g., RF communications systems), physics (specifically electromagnetics), signal processing, embedded systems (FPGA, etc.) and/or data science. Preferred candidates are fluent software developers with experience in mathematical modeling.

The position involves Modeling and Simulation (M&S) of advanced RADAR, electronic warfare, communications and optical systems using C++ object-oriented design techniques. Additional experience developing with Python (pandas, pyqt5) and/or MATLAB is desired.

The position also includes the integration of M&S tools with operational software, collecting and analyzing data from laboratory or flight tests, the verification and validation of modeled performance against flight test data, and formally verifying that the models meet specified requirements. Opportunities in probability and statistics abound, including the application of design of experiment techniques, for the evaluation of statistical performance.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens with the ability to obtain security clearance at the Secret level. Preference is given to those candidates with existing clearance.

This position may be filled at a higher level based on the qualifications below:

Basic Qualifications for a Level 3:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Software or a related technical discipline with at least 5 years of related experience or 3+ years of experience with a related Master's Degree.
  • Experience in mathematical modeling
  • Experience with signal processing.
  • Current/Active DoD Secret Clearance.
Basic Qualifications for a Level 4:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Software or a related technical discipline with at least9 years of related experience or 7+ years of experience with a related Master's Degree.
  • Experience in mathematical modeling
  • Experience with signal processing.
  • Current/Active DoD Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Linux, C++, Statistics, and/ or Python
  • Experience in electronic warfare, radar, or infrared sensors
  • Experience in object-oriented software design methodologies and programming using C++.
  • Master's Degree including electives in signal processing or statistics
  • DoD Top Secret/SCI Clearance
