Model Based Systems Engineer 1

Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems Sector organization is seeking applicants for an entry level Model Based Systems Engineer 1. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Supporting more senior MBSE engineers in the requirements development and functional allocation to hardware, software, operator and other segments and components of the system
  • Supporting system requirements reviews and creating and/or updating requirement specifications and technical documentation

  • Reviewing system engineering documentation to ensure specifications meet system needs and are accurate, comprehensive, consistent and complete
  • Performing system modeling using MBSE tools and techniques to define system interfaces, requirements and behaviors and provide support to system design
  • Supporting more senior systems engineers in the development of trade studies for the selection preferred design solutions, commercial hardware or software components, and preferred course of action alternatives in project development/product delivery
  • Supporting the development of system integration plans, procedures and scenarios used in the conduct of software/hardware system integration testing, and supporting the analysis of integration results to assess system impacts
  • Providing analysis support to the test team development and conduct of formal testing
  • Participating in engineering peer reviews as a document originator or reviewer to ensure technical quality and engineering rigor is appropriate
  • MSCOMSTR
    Basic Qualifications:
    • Bachelors degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline with 0 years of work related experience.
    • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • DoD Secret clearance that is or has been active within the last two years
    • Familiarity with MBSE/SysML modeling tools, especially PTC Integrity Modeler
    • Familiarity with the systems engineering lifecycle
    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
    • Familiarity with software development languages and scripting
    • Familiarity with MS Office suite of tools (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
    • Flexibility to travel for customer requirements
