Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for aMission Systems AvionicsEngineer2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible Engineer and Control Account Manager for Mission System hardware and subsystem development
  • Responsible for computer, storage and network equipment, hardware and subsystem design, development and evaluation.
  • Responsibilities include requirements development, hardware and subsystem analysis, generating specifications, preparing statements of work, test procedures/reports, interfacing with sellers and customers, managing supplier activities, supporting troubleshooting efforts, preparing cost estimates, managing seller obsolescence efforts, and coordination of upgrades and retrofits
  • Knowledge and understanding of computer architectures/protocols and related Avionics systems
  • Knowledge of MIL-STD-1553, fiber optics and fiber optic system performance
  • The candidate will perform liaison duties to disseminate information to Integrated Product Teams; develop schedules and coordinate communications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and2 years ofelectronics engineering experience OR
  • Master's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university
  • Must be able toobtain and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Interim Secret level security clearance prior to start

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Previous experience working on military aircraft
  • Previous DoD experience working on electronics
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
  • A current DoD Secret level security clearance
