Northrop Grumman Tactical Space Systems (TSS) is seeking a highly qualified and energetic technical leader for the position of S&MA Manager to lead the Gilbert Site Safety and Mission Assurance department. This position is ideal for a technical manager with a solid track record who either fully understands or is looking to expand their understanding of the space industry and who is on a path toward senior management.

The position is responsible for the planning and execution of all Safety and Mission Assurance activities at the Gilbert, Arizona facility to include Safety, Quality Assurance, Flight Assurance, Configuration Management, and Parts and Materials Engineering. The selected candidate will provide technical, operational, and administrative management of a staff of over 50 S&MA employees to ensure the success of Gilbert-based programs. As a member of the Gilbert Site Director of Program's staff, this positon will have the responsibility for organizing and integrating the work efforts of a growing Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance workforce with those of engineering, production and program management. As a role model and leader, the Gilbert Site S&MA Manager will be required to maintain insight of all programs in various phases of execution and address specific program concerns while ensuring cross-program impacts are contained and resolved.

The position is a direct report to the Director, Safety and Mission Assurance based in Dulles, Virginia and the candidate will interface regularly with S&MA functional managers in Dulles to keep managers abreast of issues and concerns and to ensure standard practices appropriately account for Gilbert activities and are properly implemented at the Gilbert site.

The candidate must communicate effectively through reports, presentations and in person. The position works closely with business area management to define resource needs for current programs as well as to support proposal development efforts, including defining cost estimates for future business.



Basic Qualifications:

•Bachelor's degree from a STEM program

•10 years' related experience in the aerospace industry

•Must have 5 years' of management experience

•Must have Mission Assurance experience

•Must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance

•US Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications:

•Master's degree from a STEM program OR MBA

•Mission Assurance experience within the last 5 years'

•5 years' experience in a space system mission assurance role

•Active Top Secret/SCI

•In depth experience with program risk processes

•Superior writing skills

•Proven performance working with business executives

•Experience working with a diverse set of internal and external customers
