Mission Assurance Manager 3- Baltimore, MD
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking a Mission Assurance Manager 3 to be located at our site in Linthicum, MD.
The Mission Assurance (MA) Manager is responsible for leading the MA function for a business unit within the Space ISR Division as a part of the Mission Systems Sector.
The MA Manager will lead a team of Mission Assurance Managers and Engineers that support various critical programs ensuring delivering high quality products and maintaining compliance across the organization and critical suppliers. The MA Manager will plan and execute the Program's MA plan using measurable goals and effectiveness criteria in support of the overall business strategy of the unit, division and sector. The Mission Assurance Manager reports to the Division Mission Assurance Director with additional reporting responsibilities to the VP of Business Area.
This position has significant senior leadership influence, acts as thought leader and requires a candidate with strong executive presence and decision-making skills with the ability to lead in an environment of ambiguity and continuous change.

Influences Leadership development with the focus on strong succession planning and strategic leadership movement and partners with Business leaders to build the leadership depth that supports our Mission Assurance Succession Planning process.
Establishes strong business relationships with Client leadership teams, and creates effective partnership across all the client leadership teams: Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain as well as the Profit and Loss Organizations.
Sets the strategy to meet customer's expectations, regularly communicates program status.
Provides situational awareness and executive level communication both internally and externally.
Directs and coordinates all site quality assurance functional disciplines including Quality Control, Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality, Quality Programs and Quality Systems per ISO 9001 standards and other internal/external compliance standards and regulations.
Leads operations for the Mission Assurance function with geographically dispersed locations inclusive to administration of budgets, schedules, and performance standards as well as leading proposal efforts for the Mission Assurance team.
Assures compliance in quality, risk management, safety, process improvement, subcontractor and supplier quality in accordance with contractual requirements and drives forward early predictive indicators of risk.
Leverages comprehensive metrics, customer and employee feedback to assess program performance and risks, and determines resources to ensure mission success.
Plans and manages department's manpower, budget and physical assets.
Plans and implements professional development and career management programs for site MA.
Bachelor's Degree in a Technical or Business related field.
Eight (8) years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Mission Assurance, Quality, Quality Engineering, Program Management, Engineering Management or Manufacturing.
Five (5) years of experience managing/leading employees in a direct reporting and matrixed environment.
Active DoD Secret Clearance. US Citizenship is required
Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in a Business or Engineering field.
Proven track record of solving complex problems through systematic and objective evaluation of information resulting in effective communication, championing, and implementation of change with a diverse set of internal and external customers and suppliers.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills combined with a "can do" attitude are essential.
Lean / Six Sigma Black Belt certification to drive continuous improvement.
Experience with technical and project management. Well versed in the principles of Earned Value Management.
Demonstrated understanding of the program / product lifecycle in the areas of new business pursuit, design, supply chain management, receiving operations, inventory control, production control, product test & evaluation, reliability, root cause analysis, product sell off, shipping and product support as they apply to quality.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 / AS9100 Quality Management System certification process.
Familiarity with SAP.
Active DoD Top Secret Clearance.
