Mission Assurance Engineer (4)- San Diego, CA

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems seeks a Mission Assurance Engineer 4 for our San Diego, CA office. This position requires an Active Secret Clearance.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Position defines and monitors mission assurance program specifications and processes to ensure mission success of programs. Performs or assures quality, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of program achievements, subcontractors, and suppliers in accordance with contractual requirements. Assesses program performance and risks, and determines resources to ensure mission assurance.

Provides technical solutions which support Quality Management System (QMS) functions on Department of Defense (DOD) software and hardware engineering, development, test, integration, and production programs. Utilize customer and NGMS policies and procedures, such as AS9100 and CMMI Level 5 requirements, to help realize those solutions.

Ensures Mission and Quality Assurance support throughout the development, review, delivery, and maintenance cycles for program SDRL deliverables, internal plans, Gate Reviews, risk-based process audits, Corrective and Preventive action System (CPAS), Quality Evaluation Report (QER) records, and other process artifacts.

Works with the MA team and program management team to define, gather, evaluate, and effectively present process and quality metrics to assist with program efficiency, effectiveness, and continuous improvement.

MAQEA

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline.

9 years of industry experience in Engineering, Production, Quality, or Mission Assurance.

Ability to interact with key program personnel to assess and evaluate program compliance with key quality program processes and specifications.

Hands-on experience developing or reviewing plans and processes associated with AS9100.

Possess Current Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering with experience working in manufacturing, design, or quality engineering position.

Experience providing root cause analysis and presenting key metrics to MA and Program leadership. Attention to detail coupled with the ability to quickly learn, assess, and apply new processes/procedures.

Ability to coordinate/collaborate with external quality teams in data gathering, problem solving, risk mitigation, and root cause corrective action.

Experience leading Gate Reviews and Risk Based Process Evaluations.

Solid written and verbal interpersonal, communication skills and confidence to brief senior management.

Advanced MS Excel software experience.

Six Sigma Green Belt trained/certified or knowledge of statistical analysis methods and techniques.

Ability to receive Special Program Access.
