Northrop Grumman Aerospace (NGAS) is seeking a Software Quality Manager 2 to lead and manage a program software quality team for a restricted program, to team with and collaborate closely with systems, software, and test engineers, as well as Program and CoE Mission Assurance leadership to achieve program and mission success, and to manage, retain, and staff software quality engineers to meet program requirements.

The position will be located in Rancho Bernardo, CA.

Essential Functions:

The Software Quality Manager will participate and provide technical oversight, feedback, and solution alternatives through software requirements analysis, design, code, and test. In this role, the candidate will provide day to day leadership of the software quality team to execute the following:

  • Review customer, system and software requirements to ensure the flowdown of requirements is complete and unambiguous
  • Review source code and provide technical feedback and alternative solutions
  • Perform process audits of software development processes to assure compliance to established policies, procedures, work instructions, and program specific plans.
  • Witness execution of software qualification and system acceptance tests to ensure tests are executed in accordance with approved test procedures, requirements are fully verified, and that all test procedures and software anomalies are documented and tracked to closure
  • Facilitate thorough root cause analysis on major findings and ensure appropriate corrective and preventive actions are developed and implemented in a timely manner
  • Develop, report, and maintain metrics, and present at program PCAB and functional deep dives

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or STEM degree with at least 5 years of Software Engineering / Development experience OR Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or STEM degree with3 years of Software Engineering / Development experience
  • Management / Leadership experience
  • Active In-Scope DoD Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret and special programs access clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of Functional Management experience
  • Certified quality engineer
  • Current Top Secret and Special Programs Access
  • Experience and expertise with the following are highly regarded: Software Development, CMMI Appraisals and Process Area Audits, Clearcase/Clearquest, DOORS, OneSpace, Crucible, Agile Development Model, Software Change Management
