Northrop Grumman Space Systems seeks a motivated candidate that will fill the position of Software Engineering Sub-Project Manager (SPM) 2 for a large restricted program. The position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.

The Software Engineering Manager is responsible for managing a team of 3-5 Information Assurance engineers who are responsible for reviewing and understanding the implementation of software and infrastructure security controls, and managing a team of 15-20 software developers and testers who are responsible for the development of multiple ground element software baselines for multiple increments. The selected candidate will interface frequently with other internal and external organizations. The manager will be tasked with setting and operating to objectives and providing guidance to employees. Additional responsibilities include planning, risk management and project performance, addressing cost, schedule, and technical quality for related software activities. Candidate will work closely with the Software Assistant Program Manager (APM) and will be responsible for directing all software development as well as integration and test aspects from inception through completion. The candidate will be responsible for the cost, schedule, leading and presenting status at technical exchange meetings, design walkthroughs, selloff.

  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, communication, and organizational skills and professional development/mentoring skills
  • Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements, streamline activities, and develop effective processes
  • Ideal candidates will have technical background in ground system design, software development, software integration & test

Basic Qualifications:

  • 9 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; 7 years of relevant experience with a Masters' degree; 4 years of relevant experience with a PhD.
  • Experience in software development deliverables and processes.
  • Current SCI access.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree(s) in a STEM discipline
  • AMP or M1 program domain knowledge.
  • Works very well in a team environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
