Mgr Software Engineering 2

  • Northrop Grumman Corporation is currently seeking a Manager Software Engineering 2 based in Oklahoma City, OK. This position is an IPT lead role. The candidate with be responsible for the entire SOW for the SW Block efforts on the B-2. This candidate will be responsible for maintaining work package management, performance and EVMS metrics for multiple Block programs. The candidate will be responsible for reporting all risks, issues, and opportunities to upper level management. Additional areas of responsibility include Agile based software development, Continuous Integration, software requirement verification testing, system integration testing, and support for software formal qualification testing and flight test activities. The candidate will ensure program integration with software and systems engineering disciplines. This candidate will be responsible for all software deliveries within the IFC/HSC schedules for all of the Block program efforts.

Basic Qualifications: BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other applicable STEM discipline. Must have proven leadership qualities and strong interpersonal skills. Must demonstrate exemplary professionalism and ability to maintain composure in stressful situations. Must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the software development lifecycle. Must have a demonstrated ability to build or maintain diverse/inclusive teams with engaged team members. Must have demonstrated mentoring skills, and excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward). Must have knowledge and understanding of standard Sector software engineering processes. Must have time management and organizational skills to prioritize across concurrent program and functional responsibilities. Candidate must have an active Secret clearance with the ability to maintain it.

Preferred Qualifications: An advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other STEM discipline is preferred. Advanced technical management degrees are also preferred. Prior experience in engineering functional management is a plus. Experience in Agile Software Development is a plus. Experience with multiple iterations of the complete lifecycle as a practitioner preferred. Demonstrated coaching skills are a plus. Previous experience leading a team of 5-12 employees with a record of on-time performance. Previous experience in developing proposal inputs (task descriptions and basis of estimate).
