The successful candidate will manage the functional engineering activities of a Multidiscipline group of 10-15, Structural Design, Structural Analysis, Material Review Board and Fleet Support Engineers supporting the Joint STARS Program Depot Maintenance (PDM) tasks at the NGC Lake Charles facility. The Section Manager is responsible for product integrity, process adherence, staffing, training and tools. Specific responsibilities include technical and process oversight, participation in the performance review process, management of personnel records and participation in corrective or disciplinary actions. Staffing responsibilities may include hiring, reduction in force actions, recruiting of personnel and working to ensure that engineers with the appropriate skills and experience are deployed. The ability to manage training opportunities and budget allocations, as well as participation in tool, process, and metric initiatives is required. As the onsite Technical Point of Contact, responsible for program execution of Joint STARS PDM activities at the Lake Charles Maintenance and Modification Center, the Section Manager will provide direction and communication to ensure that team members understand their tasks and assignments; set engineering priorities and support the Program Management team in executing PDM technical tasks in accordance with program budget and schedule, which will comprise the majority of the candidate's work statement. Team engagement is a key focus. The ability to mentor, provide career guidance and coaching, and to lead others is required. This position may require travel, but will be permanently located in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

Experience as a Liaison or Structural Analysis Engineer for primary airframe structure and or aircraft subsystems.

Experience with developing aircraft structural repairs.

Experience interpreting 2D Engineering detail and assembly drawings.

Experience in the use of the Microsoft Office software suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree

Prior Management Experience

Experience with Military specifications and repair manuals.

Experience with Boeing 707 Airframe.

Experience with maintenance of aging metallic aircraft.
